 Toronto is facing a 1.5 billion dollar deficit if city cannot find a new source of revenue.

 

I'll freeze councilor's pay hike for a term 

 

• This is a friendly gesture that the city councilors are there for the people, not for a salary.

 

 Transparency on Councilor’s spending

 

• I know that the people are upset when tax dollars are wasted. Especially when councilors spend thousands of dollars on general expenses. To give people trust on my spending, I will put a financial report out every fiscal year to show people exactly how their money is spent.

 

 Creating accountability on Tax Spending

 

• Citizens are wondering were the big tax dollars are spent. I'll propose to council when they generate a new levy, to make sure the tax dollars are spent appropriately but not included in the general budget. I will fight to release 1/3 of Land Transfer Tax to update local infrastructure.
