Community Safety

 

     Making a safer community is always a priority. The Willowdale community is the most populated ward and one of the wealthiest communities in Toronto. There are issues with people who use local small road to make speedy short cuts which makes residents unsafe especially for children. Frequent robbery is another neighborhood issue which can be addressed with neighborhood watch.

 

Suggestions

 

1. Reduce local area speed where necessary.

•  Single, two-way local area limits reduced by 10km/h

• Use portable speed monitors to warn drivers and mount speed cameras to deter fast and reckless driving.

• Paint the 3D painting to help reduce speed

• make sure big streets are moving well and maintained so people do not use local road as short cuts.

 

2. More police bicycle patrol and neighborhood watch.

• make efficient use of police forces. Mount cameras in areas frequented by speeders.
